Solution
The Mysterious Case of the Deadly Virus
THE EXPLANATION
Phillip Greeble, a local IT specialist, was booked to guest speak at a website development conferencence in the Scarlet Claw Hotel.
All of the website owners in Bloodborough were invited to the meeting and on request, each brought their own laptops and the files for their websites.
The following day, it was discovered that all of the town's websites had been infected with a deadly computer virus that prevented access to the site without a secret code.
Later that day, Greeble was found dead at his home - murdered!
Examine the public toilets which are located near Phillip Greeble's house, as stated by Inspector Bungler in the case notes.
Zoom in and find the scrap of ripped paper on he floor.
Match the scrap of paper to the other half, which is one of the five found near the dead mans body.
This gives you the code: 2657350864
Try the code on every site until you find the it unlocks the Undertaker's website.
You need to find Greeble's date of birth to access his belongings.
Look at the Fox Inn Facebook page, where Greeble was a regular.
2 members of the group have discussed Greeble's birthday, which was on 13th November.
They also state how old he was.
His date of birth is 13/11/1977.
Enter the date on the Undertaker's website and find another piece of ripped paper with half a code.
The rip matches one found at the crime scene and when put together it gives you the code: 6476587342
Try the code on every website until you find that it unlocks the Scarlet Claw website.
On the 'Other Events' page, enter the booking reference sc4298 seen on the receipt found next to the dead man.
Note that they held an event on the 28th November at which Greeble was the guest speaker.
Call 100 to contact reception.
Speak to the receptionist and she gives you a laptop and another scrap of paper.
The laptop needs a password. The ripped paper matches another piece of paper found at the house.
Put the numbers together and find the code: 93786783639 which unlocks the College website.
Unlock the College website and look at the notice board, where amongst the adverts there is one for IT solutions.
Also note on the lecturers page that anyone can set up an event in collaboration with the college and can reclaim expenses.
Email the addresses on the IT solutions adverts and they respond asking you to use the serial given on the laptop as an email address.
Look at the back of the laptop to find the serial and send an email to hztpd@murderhunt.co.uk
The I.T. Man responds with the password for the laptop.
Enter the password carnival and access the laptop.

Inspector Bungler gives you some phone numbers found in Greeble's phone. Try them all at the Telephone Box.
When you call one of the numbers you speak to Sam Higgins, a friend of Phillip Greeble, who tells you that Greeble was obsessed with a computer language containing 'zeros and ones'. He suggests that you should use Greeble's first name as the user name and then convert his initials into the computer language for the password.
The computer language is binary. Convert 'PG' into binary and this gives you...
